Manchester’s lo-fi psychedelic stars Spectrals are less interested in tweaking out on acid and quoting passages from The Door of Perception as they are releasing beautifully crafted records on cassettes and vinyl. Why? Well, whilst their genealogy is traceable to The 13th Floor Elevators, the influence of Pavement, the Pixies and 1980s American indie culture is stronger. Some would say that’s a shame, but those people have probably eaten too many space cakes, so make sure you take a ticket to ride with Spectrals at The Camden Crawl.
