Math rock? Post-punk-art-funk? What in heck do genre labels mean when the music has as much attitude, flair and style as Wild Palms’s goth disco? Previously known as Ex-Lion Tamers, the London quartet changed their name in 2009, but not their edge - why would they? Known for a brooding, sinister kind of dance floor racket, Wild Palms blend the dissonant edge of contemporary acts such as Selfish C*nt, with the orthodox rebelliousness of god fathers PiL and Gang of Four, so make sure get down to their tunes at Off Set Festival this September.
Wild Palms are all-over-the-shop embracing, Spector wall of sound buzzing guitars and even warped Friendly Fires-esque batucada. It’s tough to think of any better bands right now.

By rights, Wild Palms should be sharing a flat in New Cross with Pull Tiger Tail and be on “friends with benefits” terms with her from Art Brut.
